Welcome To Summer Glau Web!
This site is dedicated to the very talented Summer Glau. She is most known for her role as River Tam in Firefly and Serenity and as Cameron Phillips in The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
Summerglauweb.org is a new site and aims to be the most updated. Take a look around and see what we have to offer.
We get a bit more information about The Cape in this short interview.
David Lyons stars an honest cop who is framed for a series of murders by his corrupt colleagues and left for dead. He goes into hiding and reinvents himself as The Cape, his con’s favorite comic book superhero. But just like “Kick-Ass” (and Batman) this is a superhero who has not superpowers.
“He really works for it. He has to earn it and it’s all real,”
“[Shooting the pilot] was beautiful, amazing, really strong cast and I love the concept because I feel like it’s a really solid drama with elements of fun in it.”
“It’s kind of dark and when he falls in with this group of carnival fiends they bring him a whole other element that is really fun and I think is going to lighten up the atmosphere,”
Glau plays a blogger who covers the superhero activity in her fair city before falling in with and helping out The Cape herself.
“We joke because I’m sort of his sidekick that he’s going to have to call me ‘Pashmina’ or something … or ‘Mini Cape’ … ‘Shawl.’”
Yes! This is awesome, I wish I could make the headline bigger. NBC has picked up The Cape. Summer Glau’s new show has been picked up!
NBC is going to look very different next season. The network has added another single-cam comedy to the pile: “Friends With Benefits” from 20th TV and Imagine and has given a series order to superhero drama “The Cape.”
I wouldn’t go as far as saying that it’s a sure thing just yet but things are looking pretty damn good so far. Let’s all hope for the best and be sure to check back here on Sunday and Monday. I’ll try to get some first pics of The Cape as fast as possible.
One day less to wait for what will hopefully be good news.
LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) — NBC is getting a jump on upfront week as the Peacock will now announce its 2010-11 season lineup on Sunday, May 16.
A media alert issued this afternoon confirmed the conference call will take place at 5:15 p.m. ET.
NBC’s formal presentation is Monday morning with FOX following later that day. Rounding out the week is ABC on Tuesday, May 18 with CBS on Wednesday, May 19 and The CW on Thursday, May 20.
THR: You air your genre shows on Mondays. Do you think that will continue next season with “Event”?
Bromstad: We have another genre piece in contention, and we have “Chuck.” We’re going to hash out the schedule over the next week.
THR: The other genre show you’re referring to is “The Cape.” I heard that came in strong, too.
Bromstad: It looks fantastic. We just saw it with special effects today. It’s closed-ended, and the hero catches the bad guy every week. Decisions are still outstanding, though, because we haven’t gotten back our testing yet.
Summer Glau, attending her first Starfest and the ONLY convention that she will be appearing at this year, graciously gave some of her limited time to sit down with Jonja.net.
We talk of her first “almost got it”, and the difficulties of performing characters of such wide emotional range.
Thanks to spinsteronthecouch for uploading this and to gossi for discovering it. Why this wasn’t included in any of the DVD releases is beyond me. The video was taped at the Farpoint convention in 2009 where it was shown by Alan Tudyk.
